WARNING: AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 2012 SPOILERS AHEAD
This post contains America’s Got Talent 2012 spoilers from round two of the semifinals. Please do not keep reading if you do not want to know what happened!
Last night on the America’s Got Talent 2012 finals, the Top 6 acts gave their last performances and hoped they gave enough to be announced tonight as the act who won America’s Got Talent 2012. I know I have my favorite picked out for who I want to have won AGT 2012, but there are several acts I would not be sad to see take home the $1 million prize. Here’s the list of of the final America’s Got Talent 2012 Top 6 going into tonight’s finale:
David Girabaldi & His CMYK’s – Painters/dancers and performance artists
Joe Castillo – Sand painter and storyteller
Olate Dogs – Trained animal act
William Close – Instrument maker and musician
The Untouchables – Children’s dance group
My personal hope is that master instrument maker and musician William Close will be walking away as the America’s Got Talent 2012 winner tonight. Still, I am also quite fond of David Girabaldi & His CMYK’s. I also like Joe Castillo, but just don’t think his act is a big enough spectacle to win. Knowing my luck, it will be either Olate Dogs or Untouchables who take the grand prize — which are my least two favorites.
Before we get to who won America’s Got Talent 2012, of course, we’ll have to wade through a whole lot of time filler first.
The America’s Got Talent 2012 finale show kicks off tonight with a look back at the season. There were really some amazing acts who did not make it through to the AGT 2012 Top 6 and, in some case, I think there were several performers who should have made it through over some of the ones that did. America votes how it is going to vote though, and that’s just how it goes.
The first guest performance on the America’s Got Talent 2012 finale is FloRida performing their new song “I Cry”. Nice performance, if not really to my taste. FloRida is followed up by a guest performance from Ne-Yo doing “Let Me Love You Until You Learn To Love Yourself” — which is quite a mouthful for a title. The lights are blinding and I am off to get a soda…
Next up we have a very cool collaborative performance between William Close and One Republic and this is truly spectacular. I’d love to see William Close pairing up with all kinds of great musicians and performers of all kinds for huge concerts all over the world. Shut up and take my money!
Olate Dogs opens for the next guest performer, Frankie J. The Untouchables dance along with his performance. It’s nice enough, but the music isn’t my thing and these are my two least favorite acts.
Then we have a montage of the weirdest and most horrific auditions of America’s Got Talent 2012. Wow, there were some really, really bad auditions. Following the montage, we have some previous contestants return live to the show, including Burton Crane doing a remix of “Whatcha Gonna Do” with Nick Cannon, the breasty blond who was all over Howard Stern, and Big Barry being squished into a duffel bag by Howie Mandell as a ‘present’ for Howard Stern.
After all that craziness, we have another guest performance and this one is fabulous. I adore the Blue Man Group and it’s a great show.
Comedian Tom Cotter is the next of the Top 6 to make an appearance and he makes the audience laugh at the expense of the judges and Nick Cannon. He is joined by Joan Rivers for a bit of roasting. She’s getting a bit scary looking really…
Sand painter Joe Castillo has a lovely moment performing with members of the PS 22 Chorus singing “Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga. He’s so not going to win this thing, but I do really like Joe.
Finally we get to the results! The first act who will be going home tonight is announced! Coming in sixth place on this season of America’s Got Talent is… The Untouchables! Awh, I hate to see kids cry.
Coming up next in fifth place, and I do expect this but I still feel bad for the guy, is… Joe Castillo. I hope he will find some way to turn his awesome art into a comfortable and wonderful living for the rest of his days. He really seems like a cool, sweet guy.
Now leaving us in fourth place is… oh damn I’m disappointed at this one… is… David Girabaldi & His CMYK’s.
Oh dear, now we have Justin Bieber. I know millions of screaming tweenagers can’t get enough of him, but he bores the hell out of me and he just never sounds on pitch to my ears. Going to get a snack…
Next we have another guest performance from Green Day, much more to my taste than Justin Bieber. Maybe that just shows my age.
Now we learn that the next act to be eliminated is… OMG really? I’m sorry America, but WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. You have voted out… William Close! Over the dog act! Personally, I am just pissed off at this one. Yes, they are cute. Yes, they are well trained, but an animal act trained over the past few years does not compare to a lifetime dedicated to an art and craft like William Close has done. If I were William Close, I would be so insulted right now. Hell, I’m insulted just being a member of the mass public that would choose a group of dogs dancing in clothes over a master musician to win a million dollars.
Screw it, let’s just skip to the end. The dogs won. Yay. Put me out of my misery now. What a joke.
